The Armory Show is dedicated to the loving memory of Pat Hearn and Colin de Land.

The Armory Show has a program to raise money for two important organizations, The Pat Hearn and Colin de Land Cancer Foundation (www.phcdl.org) and the Pat Hearn and Colin de Land Acquisition Fund at The Museum of Modern Art, New York. In 2006, The Armory Show began publishing a series of editions as an extension of the distinguished annual artist commission and an expression of Pat and Colin's legacy with The Armory Show. Ewan Gibbs is continuing the tradition by generously contributing new prints to the funds. Previous participants include John Wesley (2006), Pipilotti Rist (2007), and Mary Heilmann and John Waters (2008).
Pat Hearn and Colin de Land were well respected and charismatic art dealers based in New York who co-founded The Armory Show with Matthew Marks and Paul Morris. Tragically, Pat Hearn died from cancer in 2000 and her husband, Colin de Land, died from cancer in 2003. They were both in their early 40's. To honor their spirit and memory, two foundations have been established. The Pat Hearn and Colin de Land Cancer Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to provide assistance for medical expenses to members of the visual arts community suffering from cancer. The Pat Hearn and Colin de Land Acquisition Fund at The Museum of Modern Art is committed to the work of emerging artists. It furthers the guiding principle that Pat and Colin embodied in their gallery programs and is within the core mission of The Armory Show, to promote new art. The Fund was initially established with money donated by the surviving founders of The Armory Show.
