Perspectives | "My desire is to preserve the sense of people's lives, to endow them with the strength and beauty I see in them,” says artist Nan Goldin. Known for her richly colored snapshots of a world that is universally human yet deeply personal, Goldin’s works act as a visual autobiography documenting herself and those closest to her, especially in the LGBTQ community and drug-addicted subcultures. “Jimmy Paulette on David's Bike, N.Y.C.” (1991) will be on view at @lovecaviar20 booth. • • Image courtesy of Caviar20 #TheArmoryShow #TheArmoryShow2020 #Perspectives #Pier90 #Caviar20 #NanGoldin #NewYork #ArtFair

Galleries | Brooklyn-based artist Dominique Fung’s “Jokes/Compliments” (2019) will be presented by @nicodimgallery in the Galleries section. Magical and with a beautiful high-gloss finish, Fung’s paintings often evoke a world of genteel pleasure, which simultaneously investigate untold histories of the past and deals with ideas pertaining to the creation of culture, diasporas, sexuality, femininity, and exoticism. • • Image courtesy of the artist and Nicodim Gallery #TheArmoryShow #TheArmoryShow2020 #Galleries #Pier94 #NicodimGallery #DominiqueFung #NewYork #artfair

Galleries | Presented this year by @tangcontemporaryart, Chinese artist Wu Wei’s “Behemoth-10” (2019) is a continuation of his “Fur” series, in which he tries to simulate the texture of fur by tailoring pieces of paper, creating a contrasting visual impression between smooth and textured spaces. • • Image courtesy of the artist and Tang Contemporary Art #TheArmoryShow #TheArmoryShow2020 #Galleries #Pier94 #TangContemporaryArt #WuWei #NewYork #ArtFair
