Virtual Curatorial Leadership Summit - FEBRUARY 2021

Museums as Monuments: Part 1

"Museums as Monuments" is offered as a three-part discourse that will explore the realities, challenges, and future visions of cultural institutions. The first conversation in this series, "Museums as Monuments: Part 1," was held on February 24, 2021, and explored the challenges faced by museums, their histories as static repositories, and how they have in current times, attempted to morph into dynamic, inclusive spaces.

Valerie Cassel Oliver, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and The Armory Show's 2021 Curatorial Leadership Summit Chair, was in conversation with Agnes Gund, President Emerita of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and Founder of the Art for Justice Fund.
