Carl Kostyál Gallery | London | Stockholm

Carl Kostyál opened his eponymous gallery at 12A Savile Row, London W1 in 2010 and at Isbrytaren, Igeldammsgatan 20, Stockholm in 2013, after over a decade of art consulting and collecting. In May 2021 the gallery opened its new 400sqm space Hospitalet in Stockholm with 'Stockholm Sessions', a painting survey show featuring over fifty young international painters.

Known for supporting artists early on in their careers, Carl Kostyál staged the first major European exhibitions of Gina Beavers, Ana Benaroya, Jonathan Binet, Alfred Boman, Mike Bouchet, Canyon Castator, Peter Coffin, Petra Cortright, Sara Cwynar, Alex Da Corte, Mandy El-Sayegh, Oli Epp, Ryan Estep, Claire Fontaine, Ed Fornelies, Al Freeman, Alex Gardner, Andrew Gbur, Justin John Greene, Henry Gunderson, Alexander Guy, Charles Harlan, John Henderson, Yu Honglei, Henry Hudson, Alex Israel, Basil Kincaid, Piotr Lakomy, Austin Lee, Helen Marten, Rebecca Ness, Oliver Osborne, David Ostrowski, Jon Rafman, Li Shurui, Gedi Sibony, Timur Si Qin, Ben Spiers, Emma Stern, Jim Thörell, Artie Vierkant, Emma Webster, Austyn Weiner, Wang Yuyang and Zhao Zhao. The Gallery has also staged exhibitions of long-established artists Imre Bak, Tibor Gayor, Dóra Maurer, John Millei, Peter Schuyff, and Jan Ziemski.

In addition to the London and Stockholm programme, Carl Kostyál stages solo projects with artists at his family home in Milan, runs two invitational artist residency programmes, Fontana di Vita in Matera, Basilicata, and CARs at Mohilef Studios in Los Angeles, in collaboration with artist Canyon Castator and hosts an invitational Draw Jam each summer in the south of Italy.
