Lower East Side Printshop is a non-profit printmaking studio and exhibition space that supports contemporary artists of all creative backgrounds and career levels in creating new work. Support includes studio space; technical assistance; financial assistance; education and career development; exhibitions and exposure opportunities; and an active network of peers. With its public programs, the Printshop serves as a junction for artists, collectors, museums, galleries, and educational institutions to access and engage in contemporary art.

Founded in 1968 as a community arts organization, the Printshop has offered open access to studio space to resident artists. 40 artists participate in various residency programs at any given time. In 2014, the Printshop became owner and organizer of the annual Editions/Artists’ Books (E/AB) Fair, NY, where thousands of New York audiences have free access to the latest artwork by hundreds of emerging and mid-career artists, shown by small publishers and galleries. The Printshop promotes better understanding and appreciation of contemporary art through its exhibitions, the fair, and educational programming.
